C&C Installation

C&C PCB Installation

C&C PCB Installation is a straight forward process of mounting the components and wiring them together.

A small hand drill for pilot holes, Flat & Phillips head screwdrivers & a wire stripper are all the tools you should need.

Hookup wire colour scheme is arbitrary and at your discretion, depending on which colours you have available.

Procedure to mount components

  • Position the PCB/Components and center mark the mounting feet locations with a pen or marker.
  • Remove the PCB/Components and use your small hand drill to pilot a hole for each foot.
  • Once all pilot holes are drilled, Place the PCB/Component back into position and screw in.
  • Be careful not to over tighten the screws to prevent cracking the plastic molding.

There are 4 main components to connect to the C&C PCB:

  • USB2Controller
  • Input Interface
  • Credit Mechanism
  • Credit Counter

Note: Generally it is advisable to avoid locating components close to high voltage (Mains & CRT) sources.

C&C PCB Mount Location

C&C PCB is typically mounted inside the front door / near the coin mechanism(s) of your cabinet.

It's actual location will depend on your cabinet type (Cocktail/Upright) and configuration.

Ensure it is in a clear position enabling easy wire access and not too close to hinges or other moving parts.

Power Supply Mounting

The C&C Power supply is usually located inside the cabinet near the mains power supply and mounted with custom aluminum brackets. The 5cm Velcro square may also be used to further secure the power supply.

(Usually the compression foam inside the bracket is more than adequate)

The 2 meter braided extension cable links the C&C PCB to the power supply.

C&C PCB Wiring Diagram

The C&C PCB wiring diagram shows a complete view of the various component connections.

More detailed images for component connections are below.

All connects are screw terminal - No soldering is required.

USB2Controller

The USB2Controller is usually located inside the cabinet near the main CPU.

Control Lines (Opto Isolated)

Green wire is activate power sink/ground.

Orange wire is 5 volt 50mA signal power.

Note: USB2Controller is ground switching. Meaning the 5 volts is always on and the ground is switched to complete the circuit.

Input Interface

The Input Interface is usually located inside the cabinet near the main CPU.

Credit Input (Opto Isolated)

White wire is credit input.

Blue wire is credit ground.

Note: Credit input (White) is activated when it's 5v 1mA signal is pulled down to ground.

Credit Mechanism

The C&C PCB is usually located near the Credit Mechanism, Typically on the front door of the cabinet.

Credit Triggers

White wire is trigger input.

Blue wire is trigger ground.

Note: Trigger input (White) is activated when it's 5v 1mA signal is pulled down to ground.

Controlled Power (Snubber Protected)

Red wire is 12 Volt controlled power.

Black wire is Common/Signal ground.

Trigger 1 uses credit mechanism ground.

Credit Counter

The Credit Counter is usually located near the C&C PCB.

Counter Power (Snubber Protected)

Counters are often polarity agnostic.

If not, Then ensure polarity is correct.

Counters are supplied a 12 Volt pulse upon activation.
